Such competition blights the soul
Of those who can’t quite find success.
We strive to make our pupils whole.
Then how do you assess their academic advancement?
Assessment? We don’t interfere.
Each moves ahead at his own pace,
Approved, accepted. We’re just here
To guide the flowering of our race.
But what about those who don’t bother to do schoolwork?
We’re strong on sport and, don’t forget,
Our Culture Group has rising stars.
With surfing on the internet
There’s little need for the three Rs.
But you must some specific aim for your students.
We do! Adults, well rounded out
With self-esteem, who stand up tall,
Have social skills, and do not doubt
That fortune just awaits their call.
In retrospect, Mrs Shepherd and her bamboo stick seem to have a lot of merit.
