Tell me please what I’ve done wrong.
I’m only four years old.
What did I do to raise your ire,
To draw your bombs and cannon fire,
At least I should be told.

Must be ‘cause I misbehaved
That Daddy had to fight.
I’ve heard a whisper that he’s dead,
Out in the desert, so they said.
‘Stoo late to put that right.

What I’ve done must be quite bad
To cause this misery.
No power, no food, no medicine,
And mother’s getting thin as thin
And all because of me.
